Intex Pump

How does Intex filter pump work?

Adding an Intex pump to your Intex pool will help keep the water crystal clear and balanced. The pump pulls water from the pool and runs it through a filter before pumping it back into the pool. Keep this running for 6-8 hours per day for optimal cleaning.
Another great secret is that the circular current can move any dirt and debris on the floor to the center for easier removal.

1000 Gph Krystal Clear Cartridge Filter Pump

Another tip for the smaller pools with no pre-cut holes in the side.  You can just drape these hoses over the edge into the pool.  I tied the end of each hose to a jug of sand to hold it in the pool.  A little redneck but works fine.

The all have a 25 foot 110-120V plug with GFCI built in.

Can I upgrade my Intex pool pump?

If you’re looking to replace the Intex pool pump with a larger system here are a few recommended ones.
These are a more durable and longer lasting pump. They filter using an inexpensive special sand instead of the paper filter. The silica sand only needs to be replaced every 5 years or so. The system has a backwash function to clean the debris from the sand.
They do require a little more setup but worth it in the long run.
